Jewish Family Service announces the creation of “Jewish Singles”, a group open to all Jewish Singles living in Connecticut. A planning group was held earlier this month and a full calendar of events has already been planned.

Harvey Paris, President of JFS, said that “our agency was approached by many singles who felt a clear need for both Jewish and social events geared to Jewish Singles. According to Paris, the group has taken a unique approach to programming that will allow people to get to know each other in a comfortable setting. The first Sunday of every month will be a late afternoon movie at a local theater with dinner to follow at a local restaurant and the third Friday of every month will be a Shabbot service at a local synagogue with dinner to follow as well.

The group decided to be open to all Jewish Singles, regardless of age. It is hoped that adults representing each generation will gravitate to each other as well as plan events according to their unique interests. Jewish Family Service has agreed to facilitate communication via e-mail and has already established a Jewish Singles section of its website, www.jfsct.org.  Please check the site for the latest times and locations.
